Is Your Site Intuitive And Easy To Use?
Navigation
- Return to Home Page from any page
- Clicking on logo takes you to home page
- If your site is fairly large - have a Site Map (Example: NetworkForGood.org) (Resource: Useit.com)
- Provide multiple ways to get to important parts of the site
- Keep main navigation items to a maximum of 6-8 (Poor Example: http://arngren.net)
- All web navigation should answer:
- Where am I?
- Where have I been?
- Where can I go next?
- Where's the Home Page?
- 'Breadcrumbs' is an effective way of helping users know where they are (Example: bedbathandbeyond.com) (Resource: webdesignpractices.com)
